Frequent Questions - FAQs

Welcome to the Mediaprobe community! Let’s create a better media experience and content together with cutting-edge technology!

You might need additional information to clarify any doubts you have about being a part of our exciting projects. Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) from our members/panelists.

Can you hear us through the app/sensor? Why am I asked to turn my volume up on the TV and remove my phone case?

Mediaprobe cannot listen to you through the app or the sensor. Instead, our Audio Content Recognition software detects if panelists are watching the target content.

Does the sensor have a mic or a camera on it?

The Mediaprobe sensor does not have a microphone or a camera.

How am I going to be rewarded?

Rewards are issued through Amazon Gift Cards. We add up all the session rewards and send them through on the 7th of each month.

What is the correct smartphone app that I should use?

MP MediaTest is the app you should be using.

The MP MediaTest app is available on Android and iOS.

Please do NOT use the MindProber app - that app is currently only being used for internal testing purposes.

Can I pause the content or take breaks?

You can take small breaks whenever needed, just remember to press “Pause” and “Resume” accordingly. The only thing we ask you is to please ensure that you never pause the content playing on your TV/PC. For those types of sessions, we need you to be watching everything live.

What is the difference between live and digital sessions?

In live sessions, you will be asked to watch a specific show or event live while wearing our sensor. In digital sessions, we will provide the content and you will be able to access it through the visualization area on your PC.

What / Where is the visualization area?

The visualization area is for the Digital Sessions and it can be found at https://tester.app.mindproberlabs.com/auth/login

How do I set up the sensor?

When you receive the sensor, the first step is to log in to the MP MediaTest app through the ‘sensor’ option. After doing so, you will be able to receive invites to the Mediaprobe sessions.

What to do when I am about to run out of electrodes?

When you have only 10 electrodes remaining, please fill out the form on the following page: https://www.mindproberlabs.com/electrodes-request/

We usually ship these weekly and they take about two weeks to arrive.

What do you do with the data collected? Can I see some of it?

Some use cases can be seen on our website, and we also share some insights across our social media channels.

Unfortunately, we cannot share more detailed results with panelists as that might influence your responses in future sessions.

What sort of content can I expect to be watching/listening to?

Usually, the content mainly consists of Sports Events, Entertainment Shows, Podcasts, etc. We monitor a multitude of different types of content, either video or audio.

What do I need to become a member? (Requirements - phone w/ access to internet, good internet connection, TV, PC or laptop)

You need a smartphone with access to the internet, a laptop/desktop, a TV, and access to a stable internet connection.
